EveryThing: Jay Z finally addresses marriage rumours in new song

Jay Z has finally addressed rumours surrounding his marriage to Beyonce.

In a new song he raps: "You know you made it, when the fact your marriage made it, is worth millions."

The line from the song called, All The Way Up, is a direct jab at media outlets who have spent weeks speculating about the state of couple's relationship.

The rumours began after songs on Beyonce's album, Lemonade, mentioned infidelity and heartbreak.

In her track Sorry she sings: "He only want me when I'm not there. He better call Becky with the good hair."

She adds: "Looking at my watch, he should have been home. Today I regret that night I put that ring on."

Many assumed that Beyonce was singing about her own recent experiences.

Jay Z shoots down those claims in the new song.

"Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is," the rapper says.

Beyonce dedicated the track Halo to Jay Z during the opening night of her Formation tour - but it wasn't enough to quash reports of problems between the pair.

She described him as her "beautiful husband" and told the audience in Miami that she loved him "so much".

Bey says Lemonade, her sixth studio album, is based on "every woman's journey of self knowledge and healing".

Jay, 46, and Beyonce, 34, have been married since 2008. They have a four-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

The pair have always tried to keep their private lives away from the cameras, which at times has led people to question the state of their relationship.

In 2014 a hotel employee was fired after leaking CCTV images of the couple.

The footage showed Beyonce's sister, Solange, apparently attacking Jay Z.

The reason behind the altercation was never made public but the family released a statement saying Jay Z and Solange "were moving forward" after what happened.

The statement read: "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday 5 May, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.

"But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.

"Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred."

Jay ends his verse on All The Way up with a direct nod to what happened that night while at the same time paying tribute to Prince.

"Prince left his masters where they are safe and sound. We'll never let the elevator take us down," he rhymes.

Jay Z is well known for his hidden messages in his lyrics and has even written a book revealing the secrets behind some of his most memorable quotes.

Although we think that with All The Way Up, he's made it clear what his message is this time.
